We cover highlights from the bustling city tour of Addis Ababa or ”new flower,” to the famous rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, our well-preserved, still-functioning churches carved entirely out of rock. Or take a trip into nature by visiting the Simien mountains, with its deep canyons and bizarrely jagged mountains sculpting an unbelievable scenery. Or go hot and dry at the Denakil Depression Dalol - “the Gate of hell,” an actively volcanic depression featuring a permanent lava lake and vast field of yellow and orange sulphuric rocks. A little about me: Born and raised in Jinka, a small Ethiopian city in the Southern part of Ethiopia - the lower Omo River Valley tribes provincial town. I love to share this remarkable cultural crossroads, with its colorful assortment of tribes nearby - like the Mursi, noted for their large lip plates. More tradition runs deep here, walking through the weekly tribal markets and remote villages or attending one of the many ceremonies really can feel like stepping back in time.
