14 days extraordinary safari in botswana

Day 1 Arrival Gaborone Arrive at Gaborone Sir Seretse Khama International Airport from Johannesburg. You will be met at the Airport by a Marvelous Mobile Safari guide who will take you to your hotel. Look out for a sign board that reads “MARVELOUS MOBILE SAFARI”. You will stay for a night on bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner will be served at your own expense. Freshen up in your rooms by reading magazines, books or take a walk in the unique hotel surroundings and catch beautiful bird life and enjoy the ambience of the hotel. Client has the opportunity to a set of activities within the hotel. You can choose any of the activities provided but please don't tire yourself up for the next day trip. Dinner is served at 7:30pm.

Day 2 Gaborone-Khama Rhino Sanctuary After breakfast, check out at the hotel then and proceeds with the tour from Gaborone to Khama Rhino Sanctuary. On the way to Khama Rhino, stopover at Palapye village where you will stretch your legs and have drinks. Khama Rhino Sanctuary is a community based wildlife project in Botswana, next to Serowe village where the first president of Botswana the late Sir Seretse Khama was born. The Sanctuary assist in saving the vanishing rhinoceros.

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by a well-trained and very knowledgeable ranger, who will guide you around the sanctuary in 4*4 safari game viewer vehicle (with picnic lunch). The activity lasts for only 2 hours. The Sanctuary is home to other wildlife such as: zebra, blue wildebeest, giraffe, eland, springbok, impala, gemsbok, kudu, steenbok, duiker, red hartebeest, leopard, ostrich, African wild cat, caracal, small spotted genet, and black-backed jackal, bat eared fox, brown hyena.

Overnight; Community Camp Site Khama Rhino. Day 3 Khama Rhino Sanctuary-Central Kalahari Game Reserve After breakfast depart to Central Kalahari Game Reserve one of the largest game reserve in the country which covers an area of 52 000 square kilometers, our stopover will be at Letlhakane village where we will have our refreshments and relaxation. Letlhakane is a small village surrounded by 5 diamonds mines and among those 5 mines there is a mine named Karowe Mine which has produced the biggest diamond around the world by the name Sedilame, as Botswana is one of the countries exporting minerals around the world and depending much more on mines, agriculture and tourism and our next stopover is Rakops village, the smallest village in Botswana consisting of the Boteti River in the Central part of Botswana before we proceed with our journey to the game reserve.

The Central Kalahari game reserve is a home to large herds of Gemsbok, springbok, blue-wildebeest and other predators like wild dogs, cheetahs and other bird’s species.

Day 4 Central Kalahari Game Reserve After a light breakfast in the morning, we go for a morning game drives in search for honey badgers, and jackals whilst keeping a look out for lion, cheetahs and wild dogs. Lunch served at the camp then siesta. In the late afternoon a trip to the unique Deception Valley within the Kalahari and you will be able to see; springboks, gemsboks, meerkat and chances of seeing a brown hyena are high and some good bird watching while in the desert.

Day 5 Central Kalahari Game Reserve-Maun After breakfast, depart in the morning to Maun approximately 5 hours 200 km on a tarred road, stopover at Khumaga Village the gateway to Makgadikgadi pans, for relaxation and refreshments.

Maun is a safari capital the gate way to the Okavango delta in the North-West District of Botswana with curio shops, gifts shops, airport, hotels, lodges and Thamalakane River, where you will be transferred to the hotel or lodge on a bed and breakfast basis, dinner and lunch will be served at your own expenses.

Day 6 Maun-Okavango Delta Early in the morning after breakfast we head to the mighty Okavango Delta a UNESCO Heritage Site. In the delta you will meet the local mokoro (dug-out canoe) pooler who will serve as your guide. The activity will be conducted by the community guide and our Chef and camp assistants will be there with you.

Upon arrival in the delta you will get in a canoe/mokoro on your way to the camping grounds in the island of the delta where you will have lunch and siesta. In the late afternoon go for a walking safari experiencing the art of safari whilst walking in the same ground with animals like: Zebras, elephants, Red Lechwe, blue-wildebeest and other different bird species like pied kingfisher, cormorant and the African data.

Overnight: Okavango Delta Camping Grounds.

Day 7 Okavango Delta After breakfast go for an early morning walk for 2 hours, on foot you are able to have a much more intense experience of the bush experiencing the Okavango delta islands and animals found in the delta. Lunch will be served at the camp and siesta, relaxation. After siesta jump into the canoe now experiencing the Okavango Delta channels, birds, and trees and experiencing the mokoro dugout while in the delta.

On return relaxation, dinner is served, after dinner just relax under the milky starlit and learn more about astronomy and even do storytelling.

Day 8 Okavango Delta-Moremi Game Reserve After breakfast we return to Mokoro station where we will find our vehicle waiting for you, you can do shopping for your necessities in the village while we pack the luggage before heading to Moremi Game Reserve. Moremi Game Reserve is widely considered as one of the finest wildlife reserve in Africa with a diversity of habitats combining acacia forest and mophane woodlands with floodplains and lagoons, here you will be camping at an exclusive campsite, our guides will take you to the park’s most beautiful areas such as third bridge, bodumatau and dead tree island game is plentiful, sightings include elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lions, hyena, jackal and many different antelopes including red lechwe and the shy sitatunga, a web-footed antelope perfectly adapted to life in the swamps. Wild dog, whose numbers are so rapidly dwindling elsewhere, and bird species are regularly sighted in the Moremi Game Reserve.

Day 9 Moremi Game Reserve Morning and afternoon game drives around Moremi Game reserve. There is a rich variety bird species as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffaloes and elephants and close to the water holes also lions, leopards and hippos. Furthermore you can see zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, Sable antelope and other antelopes.

Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Moremi Game Reserve is mostly mophane woodland with gently rolling ant hills.

Day 10 Moremi Game Reserve-Savuti After breakfast depart in the morning from Moremi Game Reserve to Savuti which is part of Chobe National Park. It is called Savuti because a certain chief called Sauté used to live there with his tribe. The drive is a bit longer from Moremi to Savuti, however, the drive is much more enjoyable as you will see lots of birds and animals on the way. The scenery is amazing and very African looking, with lots of umbrella thorn, acacia tortilis with giraffe feeding and many more including the most photographed bird, lilac breasted roller, a national bird of Botswana. Upon arrival, after relaxation go for late afternoon game drive, where you will be able to see different animals like lions, zebras, herds of elephants and different bird’s species. Later on the evening, storytelling around the camp fire after dinner.

Overnight: Savuti Campgrounds

Day 11 Savuti After breakfast enjoy morning game drives in the endless plains of Savuti Sand ridge for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and other wild animals. Meals served at the camp. After meals/lunch drive to the bushman painting hill at Savuti to see the paintings which were painted by the san people many years ago then back to the camp. Dinners is served.

Day 12 Savuti-Chobe National Park Early morning game drive on the way to Chobe National park 46.9 km approximately 1 hour 30 minutes’ drive, along the way you get to see mophane woodland and acacia tortilis. Chobe National Park is mostly dominated by the Zambezi teak, which is very good for making furniture. Chobe National Park is a unique park because during dry season big herds of animals congregate along the river. You will see elephants swimming from one bank to the other, buffalos crossing to Sedudu Island.

Upon arrival at the camp, lunch is served then siesta. After lunch game drive in the park getting to see different trees like mophane and other different animals in the Chobe area. Dinner served at the camp

Overnight: Chobe National Park campgrounds

Day 13 Chobe National Park Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the endless plains of the Chobe National Park for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and giraffes or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Meals served at the camp.

Day 14 Chobe National Park-Kasane International Airport.

Transfers from the park to Kasane International Airport where you will boarder a flight to Johannesburg (OR Tambo International Airport South Africa).
